Subject: URGENT: Help with Broken Water
Dear Mayor & City of Houston Officials,
I need your help. I have been a victim of a bad meter or city of Houston meter reader problem for over 9 months now & the city owes me for overcharging me 244,000 gallons of water in the amount of $2,912.96. I have reported the problem over the phone, chat and via email over 20 times – and still no one has ever been out to check the water meter. I am a single person in a small house and can not even possibly use that much water. Please get them to refund my money.
Now the city of Houston wants me to pay another $800, so I beg you to fix this. I will have to go to the media because no one at the water department will fix this or help me. Can you help me?
I have had plumbers out here 6 times and no one can find a problem, because the pressure is constant as there is no leak but the meter’s needle jumps and gives very strange readings.
I would average that I might have used 4,000 gallons of water per month costing $36.32 per month for 9 months, because I limited water use due to the bill, water rationing, etc. – so that should only cost $ 326.96 not the $ 3,239.84 that I have been charged.
Please have this fixed or get me to the correct high level person with authority at the water department.
